1. Found in the World Wide Web: Probably the best movie quotes database

“Bond … James Bond” or “Play it, Sam. Play As Time Goes by” are only two of hundreds or
thousands of movie quotes that can be found on the “dailywav” website, and they become
more each day. You can have much fun with this if you want to play a movie quiz with
friends, if you want to use such quotes as a sound for Windows error messages or if you
want to burn them between songs on your private audio CDs. Here you can find the website:
http://dailywav.com
(Please read the copyright information on the website very carefully!)

2. How your computer can remind you on birthdays

In times where nearly everyone uses a computer each day it should definitely be possible
that no one forgets to congratulate friends, colleagues and relatives on their birthday
anymore. Unfortunately, even if a Windows PC offers many ways to remind a user about that,
people still forget birthdays. Here are three ways to help:

a) Many calendar software products and Microsoft Outlook as well offer you to enter the
date and the time. When the day comes, you receive a message.

b) Write all important birthdays to a list, save it as a *.txt file and add this entry
to the Windows startup, which allows you to see this list each time you start your Windows
PC. How to configure the Windows startup was already explained in our Newsletter #002
which can be found here:
http://1-abc.net/newsltr/0002.htm

c) Since the first way only works when you start that program manually and the second one
lets you see the list every day but not only on birthdays we decided to develop 1-abc.net
Birthday Reminder. This fantastic and absolutely easy-to-use product shows a popup message
on birthday, including your comment and including any file you want to be opened then.
Additionally, it allows you to enable a pre-reminder that can tell you some days before
that it would be time to buy a birthday gift.

You can find out more and download a free 10 day trial version from here:

3. Revolutionary quotes: Robert Wilensky about the internet

Robert Wilensky is professor for computer science at the Berkeley University of California
On a conference he said in 1996: “We’ve all heard that a million monkeys banging on a
million typewriters will eventually reproduce the entire works of Shakespeare. Now, thanks
to the Internet, we know this is not true.”

4. Current news from the 1-abc.net software labs

There were many international awards for the 1-abc.net Utility Box during the last weeks,
especially an editor’s pick on PopularShareware.com and 5/5 stars on download3000.com,
topshareware.com, SharewareConnection.com, and BrotherSoft.com. Since we were asked about
it many times, we added a website now where you can read some older newsletters too, it is:
