Dear 1-abc.net User, welcome to the first February issue of 1-abc.net newsletter. This time: 1. Found in the World Wide Web: Cooking a meal with an inkjet printer 2. Erase personal data completely and securely! 3. Revolutionary quotes: Robert Orben about computers 4. Current news from the 1-abc.net software labs === 1. Found in the World Wide Web: Cooking a meal with an inkjet printer By reading this headline you probably think about one of these new and crazy internet fairytales. But it is true: Homaro Cantu, who works in Chicago-based ‘Moto Restaurant’, who is known as ‘techno chef’ and who describes himself more as a scientist, prints the evening’s offerings on edible paper. Here you can find the restaurant’s website: http://motorestaurant.com 2. Erase personal data completely and securely! When you use the fast and normal Windows deleting function for files they are not erased from your hard drive completely, even if you do not use the recycle bin for security reasons. What happens instead? Windows only removes the directory’s file entry but not the file data itself that was written on your disk. So there are lots of intelligent tools available that can reverse such deleting processes, just search for ‘un-erase’ or ‘un-delete’ with Google. Fortunately, our brand new 1-abc.net File Washer makes all these programs useless! By deleting files with that program, you can switch between 8 different deleting methods, and all of them overwrite your old file before removing so the only thing that could ever be recovered will be senseless data. By the way, one of these deleting procedures is the famous ‘Gutman Method’, that probably is one of the best ways to erase data by overwriting it 35 times - even many secret agencies and defence departments in the world do not use such complicated erasing features! And as a special fun feature we added a deleting method that overwrites the files you want to delete with another file, so whenever someone tries to reverse the wiping, he only gets the things you want him to receive, e.g. a txt file including messages like ‘Thank you for trying to un-erase my data, but unfortunately you are not allowed to get it :-)’. Keep your data secure even after deleting and erase your files with 1-abc.net File Washer! You can find out more and download a free 10 day trial version from here: http://1-abc.net/0017 Our special offer this time: If you like this program, you can save US$ 2.00 by purchasing it from this newsletter. Revolutionary quotes: Robert Orben about computers This is what Robert Orben, an American book author and comedy writer, born 1927, said about computers: “To err is human - and to blame it on a computer is even more so.” 4. Current news from the 1-abc.net software labs As mentioned above, an update version of 1-abc.net Utility Box is currently developed. Additionally there are plans for an easy-to-use encryption tool called ‘1-abc.net File Encrytper’, that will also be later included in the Utility Box. There were many international awards for the 1-abc.net Birthday Reminder during the last weeks, especially 5/5 stars on download3000.com, topshareware.com, daolnwod.com and BrotherSoft.com and the certificate for ‘100% free of adware, spyware and viruses’ from Softpedia.com. The 1-abc.net Team wishes you a nice weekend!
